I think that Hotch dieing would break the team apart. I really hope they don't do that.

I have the same feeling. Maybe it wouldn't break the team apart, but I'm not certain I could watch the show without Hotch. My favourite character no doubt. I like the team, but it just won't work for me with no Hotch around to be the drill sergeant.

Then again I did have time to think maybe Hotch meant himself, when he said "How many more times before they won't ever recover the pieces of themselves that this job takes?" and did think that he might be at the end of his rope. But that would so not have been in character.

And Reaper was bound to return.
