Criminal Minds was submitted for consideration for the Emmy nominations with two episodes: "Mayhem" and "A Shade of Gray". You can view them here at ABC's website: www.disneyabcfyc.com
Mayhem was the season opener with Hotch injured and the ambulance bomb, etc.
A Shade of Gray was the episode where the little boy was missing and killed and he was the third boy to go missing in the town so they had the amber alert and everything.
Personally, I think those were poor episode choices for submission. I've seen a lot of shows (and actors) get screwed over because they picked the wrong episode to submit. Hopefully, it won't matter, but I'm already having doubts.
Well, since the show wouldn't have gotten nominated no matter what episodes they submitted, I guess it doesn't matter that those were really bad choices.
"Mayhem" is at least mitigated by the suspense and fireworks factor, but "A Shade of Gray" was one of the weaker episodes of the season. It's only saving grace was Rossi's superb line, "We don't get to pick who wins -- even if that means no one does."
If they were going for style-over-substance, I thought they'd pick "A Big Wheel", where Alex O'Laughlin stars and the CM cast were guest stars.
