Hope you don't mind I'm truncating my intro a bit. I started watching CM reruns last spring, sporadically, but when my DVR started taping the A&E reruns I began watching four-five eps at a time and became irrevocably hooked. I darted to Best Buy to pick up the existing boxed sets and pre-ordered the fourth. I've now seen the entire series to date. Yeah, in like a month. That's how I roll when I pick up a new fandom. In for a penny, in for a pound.

I also seem to be in the unfortunate position of shipping Reid/Prentiss, which NO ONE else seems to do, which puzzles me since to me it seems like a great pairing. Since I'm a longtime and inveterate fanfic writer (I'm a freelance writer and novelist IRL) naturally I've begun a grand epic fic which I hope to start posting soon...I hope someone will be interested in it!

I'd also like to find a beta who is more familiar with the CM fandom and has writing cred to help me prep it, if anyone is interested.

I also made an icon last night because I felt like it. Feel free to gank and credit.

We have a few. Common fandom is HP (or was, I am no longer "in" the fandom) and friends, we have a few. mjryan, likebunnies, abigail89...may be some others. :-)

Aw, Mel and Jori! Awesome. The HP fandom is waaaay in the past for me but it was totally my gateway to The Internetz and all the social interactions therein so I kind of owe it for that. And a huge bulk of my flist is still people I met in that fandom. Seems like a long time ago.

Same here. In fact, HP introduced me to fandom and all it's wonderful and dysfunctional glory, and brought me to LJ (Mel actually got me here). I have much to thank it for but I also haven't written any fic for it or done anything else in the fandom since Half-Blood Prince came out. It was wonderful for a time but its time has passed.

The Criminal Minds fandom is so very different (and so much smaller!). It's such a fabulous show, though. Great characters to play with.
