So, the past few episodes...has anyone else noted how...unhealthy...Reid looks? He seems paler and with shadows under his eyes. I'm wondering if it's me, or just awkward lighting and makeup. Given the hinting from TPTB about Reid coming back to the forefront in the latter half of the season, I'm curious.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 06:30 am (UTC)But the Gube is directing an upcoming episode, so he might be able to convince the writers to bring back his drug use, but I don't think that Reid as a character would go back to drugs. I think he asked for Non-narcotic drugs when he got hit with the Anthrax.
Ehh. I think he looks good anyways.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 04:14 pm (UTC)And like everyone else has said, I think a lot of it might be because of his knee and everything. I'm sure once it heals more he'll be looking better.
And I really hope they don't bring back the drug addiction. :| They didn't handle it well the first time, which ok because it meant he didn't have to be on them for long because, let's face it, I hated seeing Reid on drugs. Anyways. Yeah. I don't wanna see them handle it badly again, or worse, handle it well and me get all angsty over Reid being angsty.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 04:14 pm (UTC)I didn't think it was necessarily drug use either. Does MGG really want to revisit that whole scenario again? O_o'''

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 04:23 pm (UTC)I didn't take his injury into account. I mean, obviously he injured it enough to require surgery, but I didn't realize just how bad it is.
Yeah, I agree going back to Dilaudid would probably be a bad idea, but if they did, they definitely need to treat it more thoroughly. Which means withdrawls, or something. Seriously, the writers were more than a little negligent in just suddenly kicking Reid off of a drug habit. *shakes head*

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 04:23 pm (UTC)Oh yes.
And about Reid on drugs - I wouldn't have minded if they had handled it seriously back in season 2. But they just sort of let it drop after it got interesting, and just mentioned it in passing later on (and once more than in passing with Elephant's Memory). They should have had the courage to go through with it - or leave it entirely.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 05:05 pm (UTC)Either way, I'm still kinda glad they dropped it quickly.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 05:08 pm (UTC)And yeah, it was bad. I found a picture he took of it somewhere and I cringed so hard. Like, it looked so bad MY knee started throbbing. That, and he said that when he went to the doctor, they said out of all the knees they'd ever seen jacked up, his was in the top ten of the worse they've ever seen.
And yeah, it would've been interesting if they had touched on how his treatment was going outside of him attending that one support group in an episode. You can't kick a drug like that THAT easily. But, again, I don't think CBS likes drug use.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 05:09 pm (UTC)So that means serial murder and rape are a-ok for air, but not addiction. Oh America, you silly country.
Well, w/e. Reid is a very different person than he was in season 2, so it's highly unlikely the situation will return at all.

Date: Dec. 18th, 2009 05:13 pm (UTC)he was dancing in the club and when he attempted to make another one of his best moves, he failed and fucked up his knee. hence, him getting shot in the first episode of the season; thus the crutches/cane. but he's off them now!
