So, the past few episodes...has anyone else noted how...unhealthy...Reid looks? He seems paler and with shadows under his eyes. I'm wondering if it's me, or just awkward lighting and makeup. Given the hinting from TPTB about Reid coming back to the forefront in the latter half of the season, I'm curious.

Agree completely. I guess I like the pale, frazzled look...kinda reminds me of an Edward Scissorhands look, a bit.

And haha about the ponytail comment...it would be very Prince Charming, that.

He's always had shadows under his eyes, but MGG has been in a lot of pain lately and has been in and out of surgery a lot for his knee, so that might be what you're seeing?

like meg_tdj said, The Gube has naturally dark eyes and he only just recently got off Crutches/Cane/TG dragging him around.

But the Gube is directing an upcoming episode, so he might be able to convince the writers to bring back his drug use, but I don't think that Reid as a character would go back to drugs. I think he asked for Non-narcotic drugs when he got hit with the Anthrax.

Ehh. I think he looks good anyways.

I've also thought he looked a bit unhealthy, but I think it's been because his hair has looked awfully unkempt lately, lol.

yeah. if he'd cut that hair he'd probably look better. i guess i'm a sucker for his nerdy hair from earlier seasons. he's so darned adorkable.

Mm, I always thought the unkempt hair was just part of his character. It's been like that at one time or another since at least fourth season, maybe third.

i think it's probably because he's had to deal with so much stress with his body because of his knee throughout the past months. i would say he looks tired versus fully unhealthy. i kindly volunteer to rub his back and help him take a nap though... :) just sayin'.

I don't think he looks unhealthy at all, in fact I think he looks LOADS healthier than he did in season 1, when he was actually ill. And the eps we're seeing now his knee was much less of an issue for him.

Yeah, in early episodes he looks downright skeletal. o_o I didn't realize he was sick, though. I know people who are just naturally that impossibly skinny, so I just accepted it. >_>

I think he needs a haircut. That's really it.
And like everyone else has said, I think a lot of it might be because of his knee and everything. I'm sure once it heals more he'll be looking better.

And I really hope they don't bring back the drug addiction. :| They didn't handle it well the first time, which ok because it meant he didn't have to be on them for long because, let's face it, I hated seeing Reid on drugs. Anyways. Yeah. I don't wanna see them handle it badly again, or worse, handle it well and me get all angsty over Reid being angsty.

I didn't take his injury into account. I mean, obviously he injured it enough to require surgery, but I didn't realize just how bad it is.

Yeah, I agree going back to Dilaudid would probably be a bad idea, but if they did, they definitely need to treat it more thoroughly. Which means withdrawls, or something. Seriously, the writers were more than a little negligent in just suddenly kicking Reid off of a drug habit. *shakes head*

And about Reid on drugs - I wouldn't have minded if they had handled it seriously back in season 2. But they just sort of let it drop after it got interesting, and just mentioned it in passing later on (and once more than in passing with Elephant's Memory). They should have had the courage to go through with it - or leave it entirely.

I've missed most of this season, but did catch an ep a few weeks ago and I thought the same thing.

He looked gaunt, the circles under his eyes were much darker than normal and his hair looked really bad.

I honestly thought that they were foreshadowing a relapse or something.

I seem to recall that Gube tweeted a few weeks ago that he was watching CM with his mom and she remarked on the circles too. He said something like, Mom, I've ALWAYS had those dark circles. *G* But yeah, even his mom seems to think so.

Agreeing with many that he looks healthier this season. I, unfortunately, thought he looked hottest in season 1: glasses, grampa sweaters, skeletal frame & all. Of course my idea of sexy, in re. men, can best be described in one word - consumptive.
