An alternative perspective

EDIT: This is a post for people to talk about WHY THEY WILL STILL WATCH. This isn't for people to reinterate sexism, why CBS sucks, etc. Please keep that in consideration!

I want to try something, and I'm sure it might not go over well. Mods...use your powers if you feel it right. But I think we need this here.

There are some of us, while sad AJ is leaving, who aren't going to stop watching the show. We may have thought some of the protests went too far. We may be excited for the change in team chemistry. Basically, we're gonna give it a shot.

We're also afraid that however calm and articulate we are, we'll be seen as flamers or we'll be flamed. I thought this could be the post for those of us who need to get this off our chests. Need to vent in another direction.

Feel free to be anon. I'd urge nobody to slam other fans, just talk about what they hope for season 6, why they aren't going to stop watching, etc. I don't want ANYONE ON ANY SIDE to feel insulted.

Whadda ya think?

EDIT: This is a 'Why I will watch' thread, not yet another place for people to state 'why they won't watch.'

To play it safe, we don't know that she was in the dark. Perhaps she didn't tell her cast mates because she didn't think she would really be let go? It could have been all secret negotiations for a reason. She may have known before it went public, but for legal or personal reasons kept it quiet.

To play it safe/make excuses, yes. She could have been hiding it. It seems unlikely though, judging from twitter and the fact that everyone in the cast is good friends with one another.

I am NOT making excuses, I'm just trying to see all potential sides of the issue. And guess what? I can't, because I wasn't a fly on the wall. So I can't make any assumptions on anything.

I like bringing up these alternatives because simply, not many people are. I want to have a well-rounded discussion about this. I'm starting to really think so many people are taking this way too seriously.

Wait, not many people are? Not here, maybe. I've been seeing people arguing for both sides in a lot of places. :\ idk. I'm taking this seriously because Emily is my favorite and because these are people's jobs they're getting rid of. At first I was very cautious, saying that they probably wanted to leave and we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves trying to help them, but the real story came out. The cast members said they wanted our support, and Paget and Joe talked about why this is bullshit. I don't see why we shouldn't take it seriously? It looks like the fan efforts aren't going to work anyway [which I'm extremely pissed about], and everyone's probably a little bitter about it. For anyone who is sad but ultimately doesn't care much about the cast change, good for you.
