Brewster just closed a deal to return to the veteran CBS crime drama, and she will be in almost every episode next season. But Cook, whose option for next season was not picked up, will be gone after wrapping her character J.J.'s storyline in two episodes early next season.

I hear Brewster's pact is for 10 out of 13, which means that she will be in nearly every episode. The actress had been approached to continue as a regular on the show but for a reduced number of episodes; now the reduction seems to be pretty small.

Wait, what is this about 13 episodes? Aren't we getting a full season? I'm confused now!

That's a definite improvement. 1 down, 1 more to go. I'm not even fond of the character JJ but I want her to stay. Maybe with more pressure they'll bring her back.

Also, full season please?

You can keep fighting, but the pressure likely didn't do anything. When this story broke a couple weeks ago, it was that Cook's contract wasn't being renewed and Brewster's episode commitment was being reduced and that's where we are today.

AJ mentioned today that it's a done deal, two episodes only.

I can still hope. Even if it won't do anything she still has my support and that's where I am today.

I guess, although, at this point, I think Cook and Brewster know they have your support and it seems to me like continuing to call CBS and sending faxes and lipstick and stuff or hassling people at Comic-Con will just create a lot of bother for low-level staffers and cast members who have no influence over the decision. Cook's tweet today said it was a done deal and Brewster signed a contract. That's pretty much it. I mean, I just don't see where the hope is at this point.

Well I guess I'm just hoping that at some point there could be a follow up or a bit of a guest spot. I'd also like to add that the only thing I've done is signed the petition, and even if I had done more that would be none of your concern. I've been away from the computer and I hadn't seen the tweet. Besides, my opinions and feelings don't matter anyway. It's not like you have to express that further.
