The closeness/family aspect is really the only thing that makes CM distinct from other procedurals imo, and they had it from the beginning. maybe it'll come to the new show... but it seems like every other crime drama these days.

I ditto this. They didn't even present an actual profile. Is that one of the differences they were striving for? To set it apart? Either way, I agree with you: it's not a CM spinoff, it's just another crime show. It could have been strictly named Suspect Behavior with no affiliation with CM for all the similarities.
