If you're looking for the discussion thread for this week's Criminal Minds ep, it's over here.
Now this discussion thread is probably a one time thing, because the response to last weeks poll was not very good, and this is a comm for Criminal Minds.
Also, please note that you can disagree with people and still be civil to each other. You can dislike something and still be polite. Breaking the rules makes your mod a sad panda.
I've just finished watching it. It's okay. Probably won't go out of my way to catch it each week.
They all call Garcia "penelope" which is weird, cus, dude, she's GARCIA.
And I find it rather disturbing that a black man (Cooper) doesn't seem to be bothered that it takes the kidnapping of a middle class white girl for the kidnapping of a poor black girl to get any attention (and the previous abductions of black girls as well). Jeanane Garafalo's character was far more upset by it than Cooper was.
Oh, and Prophet got a full pardon for killing a child molester, so I guess that means he can be an agent now.
Overall, the writing is rather trite and things are far too predictable. But I like it better than NCIS: LA though that's not saying much. I'd also like for Mick and Cooper to stop mumbling.
It's okay but it's not really Criminal Minds and doesn't deserve the name.
Well I liked it. I thought it was a pretty solid episode, although there were some predictable parts. But I seem to recall the first episode of Criminal Minds being about average as well, so I say the writers are par for the course so far.
Personally, I'm going to try and watch it every week, since the show seems good so far and has plenty of room to grow. Who's with me?
(And I like that they call Garcia 'P'. It's cute.)
I was thinking that too. But I take it the area the girl was living in was supposed to be ultra safe, like a close-gated community type of thing. I think that's what they were going for.
Actually, I was thinking they'd better not have any of that - I love the Morgan-Garcia relationship & would like it kept special. Plus, it came from the relationship between the two actors, first, so anything of a similar nature would seem forced to me. Also, Garcia didn't seem to be warmed up to them. I do miss the banter, too. But not on the flirty side! JMHO
Also, I think that might have been my major issue with this show:
The first episode of Criminal Minds got me because the group felt like a family - they gelled, and I could feel the characters cared about each other.
This one? Not really any of it. It felt hollow.
Even without Garcia in the first Criminal Minds episode, you still had *character*. There really isn't that here, and unless they get it and soon, I don't think it's going to do well.
