I'd like to take this opportunity to say that whether or not you loved/hated Ashley Seaver, Rachel Nichols as an actress is a human being who did not deserve to be sidelined liked this. She obviously loved her job and her co-workers, and is justifiably upset about this.

CBS pulled the same stunt with Rachel that they did with AJ and Paget last year. Please keep that in mind. CBS might have fixed one of the symptoms by bringing AJ and Paget back, but they have in no way solved the problem of treating their actresses as disposable.

If you can, please send Rachel some love on twitter.

Ok, how is this for sexism... CBS refused to come to an agreement with two male characters on prime shows. They substituted another male actor just to fire him when they brought back the veteran actor back--EXACTLY how they did Rachel? See CSI and CSI: Miami, particularly the latter regarding the hiring and firing.

CBS in decision making are idiots. You'll get no argument from me. Throwing out the sexist card? Might as well start jumping on the race card and citing how few minorities are in lead roles. I've got a beef with that as well but it has as much to do with what happened to Rachel as gender.

I can believe that popularity is what CBS was looking at in terms of who they considered expendable. There may be plenty of examples of other acts of idiocy but not directly related to Rachel Nichols. I give credit where credit is due, if this was about sexism then we would not have AJ or Paget back.

I'm not really getting the cries of sexism either, given the facts. Actresses get fired all the time, and so do actors for various reasons, its a volatile business, and i think the fact they were will to admit they made a mistake and offer both AJ and Paget places in the cast again, firm places, speaks to the opposite. There is no reason to keep her character around at this point. I feel bad for Rachel, but she'll get another job.
