Yes! Underneath the procedural veneer, the show is about our damage/trauma and how we deal with it. Along with deconstructing stereotypes. And I think this is why it's (a) successful, and (b) about 6 cuts above the cop procedurals like CSI, NCIS, etc.

I know that's why I watch it, because it really resonates with what I've been going through myself, with some pretty shitty things in my past I'm trying to deal with, now. I can't change what happened to me back then, but I can do something about how I think and feel and act about it now. :-)
