I guess I'm a little jaded with the writing over the last couple of season, and this was the whole straw camel thing (tbh, I wouldn't be at all surprised for them to use the addiction plot again). It's just frustrating when they resort to tired cliches for shock factor/angst.
And yeah, I don't think there's a whole lotta difference between Maeve, Hayley and Rossi's dead wife.
