The writers of U.S. TV dramas LOST, THE SHIELD and CRIMINAL MINDS have been praised for the way they accurately portray torture scenes. New York-based charity Human Rights First has nominated the three shows, together with The Closer and Boston Legal, for the organisation's first Primetime Torture Awards. [...] Human Rights First spokesman David Danzig says, "As incongruous as it may seem for a human rights group to honour the depiction of torture, these awards recognise that only a handful of TV shows have taken the time necessary to depict torture in a thoughtful, realistic fashion."
