A lot of people commented the latest CM episode felt like one from the old school, and this made me think of all the previous seasons. There is a LOT of good stuff there and I've begun to wonder...
Which episode is your favorite?
Which episode gives you the most chills?
Which UnSub is the most terrifying?
Which episode is the most gross/nauseating?
Which "adversary" of the team(member) is your favorite?
Is there an episode that stands up for you (for whatever reason)? (f.e. the victims, the ending, the twists etc...)
Feel free to share! :)

Date: Oct. 11th, 2013 08:16 pm (UTC)LDSK - Reid might have failed his fire arms test but he makes the shot that counts.
Riding the Lightning - Might be the best episode. Ever.
Fisher King - it takes every single one of the team (and Diana Reid) to solve this one.
Revelations - MGG's performance is frighteningly believable
Penelope - a Garcia show!
Tabula Rosa - Hotch destroys a condescending attorney in the courtroom and Reid's tender scene at the end with the victim's father always makes me cry.
Instincts/Memoriam - We find out how hard it is to be Dr. Spencer Reid.
Masterpiece - Jason Alexander makes my skin crawl but I cheer when Rossi kicks his ass.
The past two seasons seem to be more about bringing the gross and less about catching the unsub. That's why I won't be getting either one of those seasons on DVD. (don't even get me started about the Maeve/Reid storyline.)
I was very disappointed in this season's first two eps. That old evil-twin story has been done to death by every soap opera. This past week's ep gives me hope that the show is going in the right direction again.

Date: Oct. 11th, 2013 08:19 pm (UTC)The way they focused more on the psychology and evolution of the UnSubs and then the negotiations pulled me in.
I think the one that terrified me the most was Revelations and the one that bothered me the most was the one in which Haley died, not just because you knew right from the start that it would end badly and her goodbye to Hotch was super heartbreaking but also because the way they framed the narrative around his character really started bothering me around that time. (Plus, it started the whole trend of killing off female love interests for maximum ~manpain~ etc.)

Date: Oct. 11th, 2013 10:00 pm (UTC)s1: Riding the Lightning. I loved the psychology of this episode. I can understand why people still miss Gideon in part because of this episode.
s2: Lessons Learned, the psychology between Gideon and the prisoner at Guantánamo Bay is amazing. I also love the whole Reid kidnapped/addicted arc, except for Distress. Topical subject but I found it hard to stick with the story, unfortunately. So The Big Game through Jones.
s3: Elephant's Memory, Damaged, Tabula Rosa
s4: The Instincts, Memoriam, Masterpiece, Conflicted, Amplification
s5 Outfoxed, 100, The Uncanny Valley,
s6: With Friends Like These
s7: Proof, Epilogue, True Genius
s8: Through the Looking Glass, Zugzwang, Magnum Opus, Carbon Copy, The Gathering, Alchemy
Which episode gives you the most chills? This show gives me the creeps quite frequently. From a purely psychological standpoint though 7 Seconds pushes a lot of buttons because like many community members I'm sure, I am a parent. My girls are older now but the plot of the episode really grabs you and holds on.
Which UnSub is the most terrifying? The Reaper. No question
Which episode is the most gross/nauseating? To Hell and Back is pretty high on my list. I grew up on a farm and we often raised pigs but the implication of what those critters were chowing on.... Uh, yeah.. Lucky comes pretty close behind. Shades of Fried Green Tomatoes but without the charm. That guy was a freak!
Which "adversary" of the team(member) is your favorite? The Reaper, Ian Doyle and Diane Turner in that order.
Is there an episode that stands up for you (for whatever reason)? (f.e. the victims, the ending, the twists etc...) Again there are many but 100 and Zugzwang Both are emotionally wrenching and bring out some wonderful performances by Thomas Gibson and Matthew Gray Gubler respectively.
I would add another category if people are so inclined. Which episode did you find completely pointless/boring/badly plotted: I have two. Open Season. The outtakes for this episode featured on the DVDs are the best part. Exit Wounds. Nice to see Garcia in an active role but I thought this was a horrible story. I honestly didn't care who did it or why.
