I agree that Diana either knows exactly what happened or has a pretty good idea. And she is trying to keep it from Reid. She doesn't want him to find out what it is. (And that may be why she doesn't like the idea of him working on cases involving young children.)
She slipped up in that conversation she has with Spencer. At first she tells Reid that Riley was just a story he made up. After Reid tells her he's been having dreams about Riley or finding his body she tells him "you always were a reader - it effected your dreams" So she might have known that Riley was real and little Spencer had read about his death/murder.
i don't think reid read about the case - that wouldn't make sense seeing as how he's so affected by it. besides - morgan said at the end that reid probably read it and remembered it and reid disagreed. reid and his father are some how intricately involved with the case and diana knows how. we have to wait until wed to find out, though D:
Maybe. But if young Spencer knew Riley he might have been more effected.
Looking at the preview more closely I noticed something. We see Riley in what seems to be some sort of team shirt. Now in one of the pictures on the actor playing Young Spencer we see him in similar shirt (in a chair that says Criminal Minds on it)
So even if young Spencer wasn't involved in the case there is chance he knew Riley. And that connection might be why Diana was so scared that little Spencer was in danger.
lol how much more affected can you be by something than repressed memories? that, in itself, should be a sign as to how painful it (whatever "it" is) was.
and yeah, he definitely knew riley. i have no doubt in my mind that reid tricked himself into thinking he was an imaginary friend in his anguish instead of a real live person that he knew.
