UPDATE: CBS' 'Criminal Minds' Cuts Female Cast But Will Add New Female Cast Member

UPDATE TUESDAY 11AM: A source close to CBS stressed that the casting changes on Criminal Minds were a creative, not financial decision, and a way to "refresh a veteran drama series." A new regular female cast member will be brought in sometime next season to fill the void that will be left by Cook's departure.

Perhaps this is all a behind-closed-doors agreement between Cook and series creators/CBS. Maybe she has her own reason for leaving, and they've taken the opportunity to make creative changes as well.
